Here are my top 5 to getting started in working out! From most important to optional add ons as you go!
First thing is first – Getting you energized for your workout!
Here are some tips I listed in a previous post. I highly recommend thinking about your WHY. Why do you want to get fit and digging in a little deeper than “I want to lose weight!”
2. RESISTANCE BANDS
Feel free to get whatever you like, I use these! Don’t underestimate the power of a resistance band! Resistance bands are great in helping to activate proper muscles and will help build muscle. If you don’t think resistance bands work, throw one on and do some hip thrusts and fire hydrants, you will be wanting to rip it off by the end! On a more serious note… they’re a great affordable tool and I highly recommend in investing some!

I would highly recommend getting a set of dumbbells! You can do a lot with a set of 10lbs! But if you’re willing to splurge I would recommend to purchase a light pair and a heavier pair! In order to change your body composition we want to build muscle because that is what is going to boost your metabolism and burn fat!
Search “Amazon Basics Rubber Encased Hex Dumbbell.” You can get dumbbells from Dicks, Target or Walmart as well!
4. JUMP ROPE
A jump rope is great because it doesn’t take up much space at all, you can throw it anymore and it’s great to add some intensity or HIIT during your workouts! Plus it can be a lot of fun and it’s better than doing burpees to get your heart rate up!
A platform doesn’t take up much space and you can do a lot with it! I also find it pretty fun to get in a quick HIIT!
